Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Rekalla LLC (“Rekalla,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Delaware limited liability company, collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Rekalla mobile app and website (together, the “Service”). Rekalla is a memory-support app that helps older adults and the people who care for them keep track of daily reminders, routines, important people, and wellness check-ins. By using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
Rekalla is operated by Rekalla LLC, 8 The Grn Ste A, Dover, DE 19901, United States. For any privacy question or request, contact us at rekallasupport@gmail.com. Rekalla is a simple reminder and organization app that helps aging adults and their families keep up with everyday things as memory naturally changes with age. It is not a medical or healthcare app, not a medical device, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or monitor any disease or health condition, including any memory-related condition.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — your name, email address, and account type (Loved One or Caregiver), provided when you create an account.
- Content you add — reminders, routine steps, memory-bank entries (such as family members, doctors, phone numbers, and notes), photos you attach, and wellness check-ins (mood, sleep, energy, and notes). Some of this is health-related information you choose to enter.
- Caregiver connections — when a caregiver links to a Loved One’s account using a connect code, we store that connection and the connect code so the caregiver can help manage the account.
- Communications — if you email us for support, we keep your message and contact details to respond.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Service, our infrastructure providers automatically record technical information needed to operate and secure it, such as your IP address, device and operating-system type, app version, general (approximate) location inferred from your IP address, and dates and times of activity such as sign-ins. We use this to keep the Service running, prevent abuse, and fix problems. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Information stored on your device
Some information stays on your device, such as your language preference and a record that you accepted our Terms. If you turn on reminders, they are scheduled as notifications on your device.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the Service — show your reminders, routine, memory bank, and wellness history back to you and to caregivers you have connected with.
- To create and manage your account and caregiver connections.
- To send app notifications you have enabled.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent misuse, and troubleshoot problems.
- To respond to your questions and support requests.
- To comply with the law and enforce our Terms.
We do not use your personal information to serve ads, and we do not sell it.
4. How we share your information
We share information only as described here:
- With caregivers you connect. A caregiver you link to your account can see and manage the information in that account. You can end a connection at any time, which removes their access going forward.
- With service providers. We use Supabase for database, authentication, and file storage. Providers process your information on our behalf to run the Service and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- For legal reasons and safety. We may share information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users, the public, or Rekalla.
- Business transfers. If Rekalla is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any change in ownership of your data.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
5. How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete the information in it as described in “Deleting your account,” except where we are required to keep limited records to comply with the law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Backups and logs are kept for a limited period and then removed in the ordinary course.
6. Security
Your information is transmitted over encrypted connections and protected by access rules so that each person can only see their own information — plus, for caregivers, the accounts they are actively connected to. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by applicable law.
7. Your choices and rights
You can view and edit your information inside the app at any time, and you can permanently delete your account and its data from the Settings screen. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access to or deletion of your information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or “share” your personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To make a request, email us at the address below.
EEA and UK (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your information, and to data portability. We process your information to provide the Service you request (contract), for our legitimate interests in operating and securing it, and to comply with the law. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
How to exercise your rights
Email rekallasupport@gmail.com and we will respond as required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
8. Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account at any time from the Settings screen inside the app. This erases your account and everything in it — reminders, routines, memory-bank entries, wellness history, uploaded photos, and caregiver connections. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
9. Children’s privacy
Rekalla is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Where your information is processed
Rekalla is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States (and possibly other countries where our providers operate). If you use the Service from outside the United States, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection rules than your country.
11. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (such as Supabase for hosting and Apple for app distribution and notifications). Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third parties.
12. Health-related information
Some information you choose to enter — such as wellness check-ins (mood, sleep, energy, and notes) and medication reminders — may be considered “consumer health data” or “sensitive personal information” under certain state laws. We treat this information with care. We collect it only to provide the Service to you and to caregivers you choose to connect with. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it for advertising or marketing. If you are a resident of Washington, Nevada, or another state with a consumer-health-data law, you may have specific rights regarding this data — including the right to access it, delete it, and withdraw your consent to its collection — which you can exercise by emailing us at the address below. Rekalla is not a medical or healthcare provider and is not subject to HIPAA.
13. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is no common industry standard for responding to DNT signals. Because Rekalla does not track you across third-party websites or apps and does not allow third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your activity across different sites, we do not currently respond differently to DNT signals.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make meaningful changes, we will update this page, change the “Last updated” date above, and, where appropriate, ask you to review the changes the next time you open the app.
